Bio – John D (Jack) Ryan

My given name is John. Some people call me John or Johnny, but most people call me Jack.

I grew up on Long Island and studied at Villanova University, later expanding my education in advanced manufacturing at Cornell University. I also had the privilege of teaching Advanced Manufacturing Strategies at The Harriman School at SUNY Stony Brook.

With a background in electrical engineering and more than 40 years of experience working in high-tech industries, I’ve spent my life surrounded by the very technologies that continue to shape the way we live today. I use these tools every day and enjoy helping others—especially seniors—understand and feel confident using personal computers, tablets, smartphones, TVs, and more.

Beyond technology, I’m passionate about creativity and learning. I write music using Ableton Live Studio, produce my own videos, and keep up with the latest in AI applications. I read daily, challenge myself to learn something new each week, and have been an avid gamer since the 1970s (these days, you’ll find me on Destiny 2 and World of Warcraft).
